In my capacity of president of East Asian Football Confederation, it is great honour and pleasure to welcome our good football family of East Asia to Guam on the occasion of the preliminary competition for the East Asian Football Championship 2010 in Japan. I would like to thank Mr. Richard King Lai, President of Guam Football Association, Mr. Falix P. Camacho, Governor of Guam, and Mr. Michael W. Cruz, MD, Lieutenant Governor of Guam, for their tireless efforts and unchangeable supports to prepare for the competition. Since 2003 EAFF had organised the Final Competition of the East Asia Football Championship in Japan, Korea and China. The success of the best National Teams in this prominent competition will lead to the improvement of status of East Asian football not only in Asia but also on the International stage. I am certain that the officials and players of participating teams, with the pride as National Team and with the spirit of Fair Play, will deliver exciting matches that would fascinate the fans. I believe that doing your best and challenging each other in this tough competition of preliminaries will lead to raise the standard of East Asian football. We will move forward, together with you, for further development of football in East Asia.
