Welcome
Message from the President |

|
|
I am very
pleased to see that the East Asian Football Championship
2005 Preliminary Competition takes place in this
beautiful island of Chinese Taipei.
I would
like to extend my warmest welcome to all the players
and officials of the five participating teams.
I hope that during the second East Asian Football
Championship Preliminary Competition, we will
be able to repeat the success of the first tournament
that took place in Hong Kong two years ago.

I am confident
that the East Asian Football Championship is contributing
to the development of football in our region. Continuing
successful results achieved by various age-level teams
in our region confirm this positive trend.
Most notably,
following the successful performances during the 2002
FIFA World Cup™, Korea Republic, Japan and Korea
DPR have qualified for the Asian Final Qualification
Round for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™. I pin my hopes
on these teams of our region qualifying for the Final
Round in Germany to represent our region with dignity
and pride. I join the numerous football fans in our
region in cheering for them.
The winner of
the Preliminary Competition of the EAFC 2005 will join
Korea Republic, China and Japan in Korea Republic for
the Final Round. I wish the five teams the best of luck
and success and hope that all the players will play
well in the spirit of fair play.
Last but not least,
I would like to thank Dr. Huang Shih Cheng, the President,
and all other people at the Chinese Taipei FA who have
made this tournament possible.
Thank you.

We especially
thank EAFF for this opportunity to host this tournament.
Not only is it proof of our ability in organizing
international competitions, but it also is a peerless
affirmation to CTFA staffs.
The EAFC 2005 Preliminary Competition is the first
international football tournament in Chinese Taipei
this year, hence we expect a good performance
at the beginning of 2005.
At the same time, we still need more supports
from local football fans.
As the host, we wish all our guests a beautiful
memory and special success for this event and
EAFF.

Taipei, being
a multi-cultural and advanced information technology
city, has always been keen on developing different varieties
of sport and enthusiastic about the organization of
different high-quality sporting events. Especially since
the FIFA Futsal World Championship 2004 tournament was
hosted here, we enjoy being part of a premium football
event; and even more, the hosting of different international
sport events will further develop Taipei's sports in
the general.
My sincere appreciation
goes to all the dedicated personnel and entities involved
with this event which have brought the success of the
event in Taipei.
