On September 6, Korea national team beat Qatar 3-2 in the AFC final qualifying round for 2018 World Cup. It was a must-win game for Korea as they draw with Syria last month. Korea scored an early goal but struggled with Qatar’s counter attack. In the second half, Korea was down to 10 men and Qatar put heavy attacks on Korean defense line. But Korea edged a victory at the end.

Korea started the game with Trabzonspor striker Suk Hyunjun as a center forward. Qatar played with a sole striker Sebastian Soria and Rodrigo Tabata and Hassan Al Haydos were behind the Uruguayan.

Korea took the lead in the 11’. Korean captain Ki Sungyueng fired a middle-range shot and put the ball into the net. The Swansea player had another chance in the 14’ but Qatar goalkeeper Saad Al Sheeb saved it.
