The KFA announced on Sunday the Group H fixtures in the second round of Asian Zone qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will be hosted by Korea Republic in Goyang in June.
As Korea DPR’s withdrawal from the preliminary competition has been confirmed, the remaining fixtures of Group H – Korea Republic, Lebanon, Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka – are rescheduled to take place on 5, 9 and 13 June. A total of five matches will be staged at Goyang Sports Complex. The second round of qualifying had been formatted on a home-and-away basis, before a series of postponements due to the COVID-19 outbreak resulted in a change with a country from each group hosting their group’s remaining games.
Paolo Bento’s side will take on current leaders Turkmenistan at 8PM on Saturday, 5 June, before meeting Sri Lanka at 8PM on Wednesday, 9 June, and then Lebanon at 3PM on Sunday, 13 June. This will be the first time in eight months since the senior national team played in Goyang, against the Olympics national team last October, and the last time that the city hosted an A-match was two years and nine months ago, when Korea Republic defeated Costa Rica 2-0 in a friendly in September 2018. .....
