Pune: Yui Hasegawa comes into the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022™ having already lifted the prestigious trophy before but the Japanese midfielder is determined to play a more dominant role this time around.
Yui first donned the Nadeshiko jersey in the 2013 AFC U-19 Championship and made her AFC Women’s Asian Cup debut in Jordan 2018 as a 21-year-old.
It was a debut to remember as Japan defended the title won in 2014 but despite the triumph, Yui didn’t feel fully satisfied. .....
