Tashkent: Korea Republic edged Thailand 1-0 on Wednesday to book their place in the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 as the Group C winners.
The defending champions finished on seven points and will face the Group D runners-up in the quarter-finals while Thailand were eliminated with Vietnam advancing after their 2-0 win over Malaysia.
Korea Republic came into the tie at the Lokomotiv Stadium with the intention of winning, with head coach Hwang Sun-hong naming Europe-based Lee Kang-in and Cho Young-wook, with three goals in two games to his name, in the starting-11. .....
