Tashkent: Japan produced their best performance of the tournament to defeat Korea Republic 3-0 in their AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 quarter-final on Sunday.
In a classic affair at the Pakhtakor Stadium, Japan richly deserved their victory against defending champions Korea Republic, with Go Oiwa's side to play hosts Uzbekistan in the semi-finals.
Both teams made a number of changes to their starting lineups from their final group stage fixtures, but what was most surprising was Korea Republic head coach Hwang Sun-hong fielding goalkeeper Min Seong-jun and defender Kim Hyun-woo, who were both making their tournament debuts. .....
