Hong Kong played against China in their last game of the EAFF E-1 Football Championship at the Toyota Stadium, Aichi. In search of their first goal and win of the competition, Hong Kong saw them fall short to China for the fourth time in this competition after a spirited team effort that saw them lose 1:0 in a hard-fought contest.
This fixture in Aichi was Hong Kong's third game in just seven days, but that didn't stop head coach Jørn Andersen from putting out a largely unchanged starting lineup, including goalkeeper Chan Ka Ho who had established himself as the Hong Kong number one through a series of assured performances in his previous outings against Japan and South Korea.
