Zarqa City: Japan booked their spot in the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ 2023 Finals after a 3-0 win over Syria in Group A of the Qualifiers on Friday.
Japan's berth was confirmed after hosts Jordan were held to a 3-3 draw by Turkmenistan in Friday's late match, giving the East Asians an unassailable lead of nine points with a match to spare.

Having defeated Philippines (3-0) and Turkmenistan (7-0), Japan came into the tie at the Prince Mohammad International Stadium as favourites against a Syria side who settled for draws against Jordan (0-0) and Turkmenistan (1-1). .....
