Kuala Lumpur: Asia’s match officials will be well represented at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with a record 19 Referees, Assistant Referees and Video Match Officials (VMOs) appointed.

As they represent the Continent at the highest level, the-AFC.com profiles the Assistant Referees who will be on duty in Qatar 2022.

Cao Yi (CHN) and Shi Xiang (CHN)

Both Cao Yi and Shi Xiang (pictured below) have amassed their fair share of international experience having assisted compatriot Ma Ning at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019.

They also paired up to feature in the Continent’s most prestigious men’s national team tournament at the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019™.

More recently, they officiated the first leg of the AFC Champions League™ Final tie between Kashima Antlers and Persepolis in 2018. .....
