Bangkok: Korea Republic last lifted the title 21 years ago and head coach Byun Sung-hwan believes his charges are capable of ending the wait following their 4-0 win over Afghanistan in Group B of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 at the Pathum Thani Stadium on Monday.
The victory meant Korea Republic advanced to the quarter-finals with a match to spare, thanks to Islamic Republic of Iran and Qatar playing to a goalless draw later on Monday.
Byun, despite being disappointed with his team’s second-half performance, firmly believes that Korea Republic are on track to win the title for the first time since 2002. .....
