Kuala Lumpur: Only months after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s match officials are now ready to represent the Continent on the biggest stage in women’s football with five women referees from Asia being selected to officiate at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

With accolades such as becoming one of the three chosen women officials at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the first woman to take charge of an AFC Champions League™ match, Japan’s Yoshimi Yamashita needs no introduction. Yamashita will be joining the likes of Kate Jacewicz and Casey Reibelt from Australia, and Korea Republic’s Kim Yu-jeong and Oh Hyeon-jeong as the five women referees who will be representing Asia at the upcoming edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
