Kuwait City: Iraq were simply unstoppable as they defeated Macau 13-0 in Group F of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers at the Kuwait Sports Club Stadium on Wednesday.
Hosts Kuwait also got off to a winning start, defeating Timor-Leste 4-0 to keep pace with their West Asian neighbours.
Iraq 13-0 Macau
Ridha Fadhil Mayali led the way with a hat-trick as Iraq signalled their intentions with an emphatic win over Macau.
Mayali scored in the 38th, 46th and 57th minutes with Hussein Abdullah Lawend (10th, 59th, penalty), Alexander Moaid Goriaali (15th, 45+7) and Jasim Elaibi (27th, 45th) adding braces. .....
