Hong Kong: Nagoya Grampus progressed to the semi-finals of the J.League Cup in dramatic fashion on Sunday after 20-year-old Haruki Yoshida came off the bench to score the winner with one minute of extra time remaining in their quarter-final second leg contest against hosts Kashima Antlers.

Japan: Nagoya edge past Kashima

Haruki Yoshida struck a late winner as Nagoya Grampus edged Kashima Antlers 2-1 in extra time on Sunday to progress to the semi-finals of the J.League Cup. After the first leg finished 1-1, Taika Nakashima gave Nagoya an early lead before Hayato Nakama’s second-half strike forced an additional 30 minutes in Kashima.

Yokohama F. Marinos, meanwhile, overturned a first-leg deficit against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo to advance to the last four. After losing the away leg 3-2 on Wednesday, goals from Kota Mizunuma, Anderson Lopes and Nam Tae-hee gave Kevin Muscat’s side a 3-0 win in Yokohama at the weekend.
