Yangon: Lwin Moe Aung had the honour of scoring the first goal of the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ as Myanmar beat Macau 5-1 in their first leg match on Thursday.
A dominant Myanmar took the lead through Lwin but were pegged back by a Nicholas Mario Torrao goal before strikes from Kyaw Min Oo, Aung Kaung Mann, Nay Moe Naing and a second from Lwin sealed the win to give them a healthy advantage to take Tuesday’s second leg.
Myanmar saw a lot of the ball in the opening 15 minutes but struggled to break down a resolute Macau defence to trouble Ho Man Fai in goal. .....
