Ulaanbaatar: Timor-Leste overcame a stiff test from Mongolia to advance to the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ qualifiers with a 4-3 aggregate score.
Mongolia won Tuesday’s second leg 2-0 but it was not enough to overturn the 4-1 first leg loss as Timor-Leste kept themselves in the hunt for a place at the continental showpiece.
Hopes for a comeback were raised for the hosts as early as the eighth minute when defender Turbat Daginaa beat goalkeeper Junildo Pereira to put Mongolia 1-0 up. .....
