Europe Wrap: Mitoma creates Premier League history

Kuala Lumpur: Kaoru Mitoma’s strike in Brighton’s win at Manchester United on Sunday sees him becoming the highest-scoring Japanese player in Premier League history with 15 goals, one more than former Leicester City striker Shinji Okazaki.

Mitoma’s compatriots Takefusa Kubo, scored in La Liga action while the Bundesliga trio of Ritsu Doan, Shio Fukuda and Shuto Machino also found the back of the net, while the rest of Asia’s finest made their mark in other European leagues.

England: Mitoma the man

Japan’s Kaoru Mitoma claimed his fifth goal of the season for Brighton on Sunday, scoring in the 60th minute in their 3-1 win over Manchester United. He also scored the first earlier in the week in his side’s 2-0 win over Ipswich Town.
