Japan produced a phenomenal first half performance to defeat Canada 4-1, Ao Tanaka giving them a second minute lead with Alphonso Davies' own goal in the 39th minute widening their advantage.
Keito Nakamura struck the third three minutes before the half-time whistle with Tanaka netting his second of the match in the 49th minute. Junior Holliet scored a consolation for Canada in the 89th minute.
