Kuala Lumpur: There will be no easy matches for Asia's representatives at the 2024 Paris Olympics Men's Football Tournament with all three hopefuls set to face quality opposition in the group stage.
Iraq, Japan and Uzbekistan will be aiming to emulate, if not better, the bronze medals won in the 1968 and 2012 editions by Japan and Korea Republic respectively.
Ahead of the men's tournament kicking off on July 24, the-AFC.com takes a look at the groups, with the top two teams from each to advance to the quarter-finals.
Group D: Japan, Paraguay, Mali, Israel
The closest Japan have come to winning a medal since clinching bronze at the 1968 Games was as recent as four years ago and in the 2012 edition.
They finished fourth on both occasions and if a medal is to be won at Paris 2024, the reigning AFC U23 Asian Cup champions will have to do it with a squad missing overage players. .....
